Overview: In January 2010, CONNECT announced the signing of NBA Hall of Famer, Bill Walton, as the Executive Chairman of the San Diego Sports Innovators – a group within CONNECT designed specifically to accelerate the growth of early-stage sports-related companies.

Bill Walton will provide an overview of innovation in America and discuss policy issues that face the action and sports industry. Mr. Walton will explore the convergence of the action and sports industry with the health sector and explain how legislation and regulations impact innovations across all sectors.

Mr. Walton will provide examples of emerging technologies that are contributing to the nation's vibrant innovation economy and explore the role of government in sustaining this growth in innovation.
